Setting up without data: the example rows

No spreadsheet? Set up straight from paper, and see the example jobs OmniSchema fills your pages with until you add your own.

What's in this video

  1. Not everyone has a spreadsheet to bring in. In this video, we'll set up a company that works from paper, and see the example data OmniSchema fills your pages with.
  2. This time, I'll pick Facilities and Maintenance.
  3. We're a small team, and we use paper and whiteboards today. Click Continue.
  4. Name the app, and click Create app.
  5. Keep the recommended kits, and click Install recommended kit.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Because we said we use paper, there's nothing to import. Until you add your own, each list shows a few example rows, so your pages aren't empty. Click Skip for now.
  8. Here's the new app. Let's open Work Orders from the menu.
  9. These jobs are examples, made up to show you how a real list looks: titles, sites, equipment, priorities, and who's doing them. They're only there until you add your own.
  10. Let's add a real job. Click New work order.
  11. Fill in what's needed: a title, the site, and what's wrong. Then click Submit.
  12. Now go back to Work Orders.
  13. The example jobs have gone, and only your real job is left. That happens list by list: the moment you add something real to a list, its examples disappear. Your other lists keep theirs until you add your own.
  14. In the next video, I'll show you where everything is in the app.
