Finding your way around

Today's tiles, the jobs list and its filters, opening a job and its history, the menu, planned maintenance and the top bar.

What's in this video

  1. In this video, I'll show you where everything is, so you can find your way around. We're using a company that's been running for a while, so there's plenty to see. This is the first screen you see when you sign in.
  2. At the top is Today. These four tiles show what's late, what's due today, what's coming up in the next seven days, and the jobs nobody has been given yet.
  3. Under the tiles, the same jobs are listed by name, so you can see exactly what needs doing.
  4. Click a tile to open those jobs. Let's click Late.
  5. This is the jobs list, showing just the late ones. Each row is one job: its title, the site, the equipment, its priority and its status.
  6. The buttons above the list filter it with one click. To see every job again, click Reset filters.
  7. To open a job, click it.
  8. The job opens on the right. At the top are the buttons to start it and close it. Below are its details: the site, the equipment, its priority, and what's wrong.
  9. Scroll down, and you'll find its history: who changed what, and when.
  10. On the left is the menu, with your app's main pages. Let's open the planned maintenance schedule.
  11. Here are your planned services: the list on the left, and a calendar showing when each one is due.
  12. Finally, the top bar. This switch moves between workspaces: Operational, for day to day work, and, for admins, Governance for company settings and Studio for changing pages.
  13. Next to it you can switch between light and dark. And if you're ever stuck, the question mark runs a guided tour.
  14. That's your way around. In the next video, we'll skip the setup steps completely, and build a page of our own.
