Blocks: Input Group
A search box that filters the tables and other blocks on the page as people type.
What's in this video
- An Input Group is a box people type in, to search the page. This page already has a table of jobs. Let's add a search box, and move it above the table with the Position arrows. Search for Input Group and click it.
- Give it a name, and a Field label: the words shown next to the box. Search jobs.
- Choose the same list as the table under Data source: Work Orders.
- Then the Filter field: the column to search in. Choose Title.
- Now it's connected. Whatever people type, every block on the page that uses Work Orders shows only the rows that match.
- Let's try it. Click Preview.
- Type boiler. The table narrows as you type, to just the jobs with boiler in the title.
- Clear the box, and every job comes back. Choose a different filter field to search by site, or by who the job is assigned to.
