Blocks: Chart
Bar, line and pie charts from a list, with colours, and bars you can click to see the rows behind them.
What's in this video
- A Chart turns a list into a picture, so you can see at a glance where the work is. Search for Chart and click it.
- Name it, and choose the list under Data source: Work Orders.
- Chart field is what the chart groups by. Each value gets its own bar. Choose Status.
- Now there's a bar for each status, showing how many jobs are in it.
- Chart type: Bar, Line or Pie. A pie shows how the whole splits into parts.
- Line suits things that change over time, such as jobs per month. Let's go back to Bar.
- Bar direction: bars across, or columns going up. Columns often look better on a wide page.
- Calculation: Count counts the rows in each group. Sum adds up a number column, such as cost, for each group.
- And Color sets the colour of the bars. Pick one that suits your company.
- Click Preview.
- Charts are clickable. Click a bar, here Assigned, and the list opens with just those rows, so you can go from the picture straight to the jobs.
