Stock: deliveries and reordering
Low stock, Reorder as a draft request in Purchasing, deliveries put into stock, and the daily low stock email.
What's in this video
- Stock tells you when something is running low. On the Stock overview, Running low counts the items at or below their reorder level. Click it.
- Low stock lists them, with the usual supplier, how many you have, the reorder level, and how many you usually order.
- We've run out of fuses, and we reorder at five. Click Reorder.
- Stock makes a draft request in Purchasing, as you, for how many you usually order, at the usual cost. The fuses now show On order, so nobody orders them twice.
- The draft waits for you in Purchasing, under Requests. Open it, and check the supplier, the amount and the price. When you send it, your usual spending rules and approvals apply.
- No Purchasing, or buying at the counter? On Low stock, click Print, or Download CSV, and send the list to your supplier.
- When the fuses arrive, take the delivery in through Purchasing, as usual. Open the order, and click Record a delivery.
- With Stock switched on, there's a new choice here: Put into stock at. Choose Main store, and click Received.
- In Stock, the fuses are now in Main store, at the price on the order, and the average cost is updated. Lines ordered for a job go straight to that job instead, so nothing is counted twice.
- If a delivery has an item Stock doesn't know, it waits under To check, to be added, or matched to one of yours.
- Last, the daily low stock email: one email a morning, when something needs reordering. Anyone can stop it for themselves, at the bottom of Low stock.
- That's Stock: everything in its place, properly costed, and reordered before you run out.
