Your day, and starting a job
Your day, your jobs, and starting a job with the quick safety check.
What's in this video
- This is OmniSchema on an engineer's phone. When you open it, you see Good morning, and My day: your jobs for today, in the order to do them. Anything late is at the top.
- Along the bottom are the buttons you'll use most: Home, Work Orders, PPM Schedule, Messages, and Menu for everything else.
- Tap Work Orders to see the jobs. Then tap Assigned to me, so you only see your own.
- Each job is a card: what it is, how urgent, where, and when it's due. A late job has a red edge, so you can't miss it. Tap a job to open it.
- The job opens, with everything you need: the site, the equipment, and what's wrong. When you arrive and you're ready to work, tap Start.
- Before any job starts, there's a quick safety check. Go through each item, and tick it only if it's true: the work area is safe, the power is isolated, you have the right protective equipment, you can get in and out, and you've checked for asbestos and other hazards.
- If something isn't safe, tap This is not safe, stop, and the job doesn't start. If everything's fine, tap Risks accepted, start job.
- The job is now In progress. Its history records who started it, and when, and the safety check you signed. The first time, OmniSchema asks if it can record your location when you start and close jobs. It's your choice, and the job goes ahead either way.
- In the next video, we'll close the job, and look at the rest of the app on your phone.
