People: Clocking in on your phone, even with no signal
Clock in and out from a phone, even with no signal, add forgotten time and send your timesheet.
What's in this video
- This is Tom, one of our gas engineers, arriving at Elm Park Centre for the day. In People on his phone, he taps Time at the bottom.
- My time says Not clocked in. When he presses Clock in, his phone shares where he is at that moment, so People can check he's at his site. It isn't tracked the rest of the day.
- Tap Clock in.
- He's clocked in, and the timer is running. The first time, the phone gets set up for clocking in, which needs signal once. After that, it works anywhere.
- Now say Tom's last job is down in a basement plant room, with no signal at all. When he finishes, he taps Clock out anyway.
- The phone keeps it, under Waiting to send, with the time he really pressed. Don't sign out while something is waiting, or it's lost.
- As soon as he has signal again, it's sent by itself. People adds the hours to his timesheet. For this video, Tom clocked out after a minute, so it's no hours.
- People works out the hours itself, and tells the manager the clock out was sent later. If the phone's clock looked wrong, the time is held until a manager checks it.
- Forgot to clock in on Friday? Tap Add time.
- Choose the day, the time he started and finished, and his break. Then tap Add.
- This week now shows his hours day by day. At the end of the week, he taps Send my timesheet, and it goes to his manager to approve.
- It says Sent to your manager. In the next video, the manager approves timesheets and closes the pay period.
