People: People and your jobs

Who can do this job? when reassigning, hours from jobs on timesheets, and the People block on your own pages.

What's in this video

1. People works with your jobs in OmniSchema. Before a job goes to someone, OmniSchema can check they hold the right qualifications, and aren't on leave. Here's the Work Orders list. This boiler job has nobody yet. Click it.
2. Its Work Type is Gas heating, the same name as the kind of job we set up in People settings, which needs Gas Safe. Click Reassign.
3. Who can do this job? checks everyone against their qualifications, right to work, leave and working hours in People. Tom is the best match: he holds Gas Safe, and he's free.
4. Everyone else says why they can't: no Gas Safe, on leave, off sick, or they wouldn't get eleven hours' rest. It only advises. You still choose.
5. Click Choose next to Tom. He's filled in under Assign to. Click Reassign.
6. The job is now Tom's, and the change is kept in the job's history.
7. The same for this fire alarm fault. Its Work Type is Electrical, which needs the 18th Edition wiring certificate. Reassign shows Priya as the best match.
8. Choose Priya, and click Reassign.
9. There's a second link with jobs. When an engineer starts and closes their own job, the time in between goes onto their People timesheet by itself, so their manager sees job hours next to clocked hours.
10. And third, you can show People on any page you build. Open Studio, click Pages, type a name for a new page, and click Add page.
11. Search the blocks for People, and click it. It starts with People figures: how many people, how many are working, leave waiting to be decided, and timesheets still open. Give it a name, like Our team.
12. Add a second People block, name it Who's off, and under Show, choose Who's off. That's everyone off sick or on leave in the next two weeks.
13. Add a third, call it Cards running out, and choose Qualifications running out.
14. Click Preview. Each person sees only what their People access allows, so staff never see other people's details. Publish the page when you're happy.
15. That's how People fits with your jobs: the right person for each job, hours that fill in by themselves, and your team on your own pages.
