Accounting with Xero or QuickBooks
Connect Xero or QuickBooks once, choose how invoices arrive, and invoices paid there are marked Paid here.
What's in this video
- If you use Xero or QuickBooks, connect it here, so nobody has to type an invoice twice. In Governance, click Accounting.
- There's a card for each. Connect the one your accountant uses. You only need one.
- For Xero, click Connect Xero. You sign in to Xero, tick your organisation, and come straight back here. Only an admin can connect it.
- On QuickBooks Online instead? Click Connect QuickBooks, sign in to Intuit, and choose your company.
- Once Xero is connected, the card shows your organisation, and three settings.
- First, the sales account code. It's usually two hundred, for Sales. If you're not sure, ask your accountant.
- Next, how invoices arrive in Xero. As drafts, your accountant approves them there first. As approved, they're ready to be paid.
- Tick this box only if your invoice amounts already include VAT. Otherwise Xero adds the VAT on top. Then click Save.
- Now, any invoice in your Sales Ledger goes to Xero with one click. If the customer is already in Xero, they're matched. If not, they're added.
- When an invoice is paid in Xero, it's marked Paid here too. OmniSchema checks every thirty minutes, or click Check for payments now.
- And Disconnect stops anything new being sent. Invoices already in Xero stay there. That's Accounting.
